At first my attention was gripped because of the strange drum programming - it is somewhat off-kilter. Though as the track progressed, the mood suddenly turned cinematic and quite grandiose.
It's not just the beauty of the vocal samples, the strings and the percussion which make "Tonkori" such a gem, but how all of this is arranged in manner which reflects the cohesiveness of a river poised with grace. I can honesty imagine this as the backtrack to the climax of a movie.
"Taken from an EP inspired by a visit to Japan, ‘Tonkori’ is a multi-instrumental electro-acoustic ode to the first view of Mount Fuji, one of the 'Three Holy Mountains (Sanreizan)' of Japan."
