Towards the start of February, Mereba blessed us with her 3rd studio album, The Breeze Grew a Fire, and one of the standout tracks was the utterly soulful "White Doves".
As a singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer, Mereba gracefully shines on this album as she seamlessly floats between indie, r&b, and soul music. What initially grabbed my attention about "White Doves" was the beefy bassline, and paired with the punchy yet muffled drums, this creates quite an irresistible groove. When her vocals make their entrance, they glide over the drums and glittery piano arrangements like a feather in the wind thanks to their soft, dreamy allure. If you enjoyed this, I'd highly suggest diving into this body of work. Here you can see a list of some of the stellar albums that dropped so far this year.
