Maya Law's been on our radar since 2018 when we featured her "Full Circle". And it's great to be able to follow her awesome journey so far.
Her latest single "Losing It All" is a mellow & melancholic but also a warm piece, produced by long-time collaborator Freya Roy. Inspired by a period of intense writer's block, the confessional song explores topics like self-doubt, low self-esteem & the toll the music industry takes on independent artists.
“‘Losing It All’ is my creative breakdown anthem. I was having an intense writing block and general feelings of giving up in the music industry. It touches on my heritage in a similar way to Mother Tongue, but focuses on the industry and the boxes they have shoved me into in the past. I was battling with feelings of not being good enough or never being successful in my career. Now looking back, I know that when it makes me feel good, it’s good enough - and fuck the rest,” Maya shares.
Rich soundscapes with hazy guitars, an empowering drum groove & her distinct vocal approach make this a song to play on repeat. Make sure to also check the music video:
