There is an undeniable relationship between Hip Hop and Bedroom Pop and artists like Joji, Steve Lacy, and Still Woozy are stellar examples. On Matt Sterling's "Back Around" this relationship is beautifully exhibited too in a manner that is absolutely refreshing.
The moment the drums kick in they're bound to have your head swinging back and forth. They also have a rough and raw quality to them and this is contrasted with Matt's lush guitar arrangements that delicately float over the beat. I can't neglect to mention his gripping vocal performance particularly since his harmonies are as comforting as a warm fire in the peak of winter.
