Monday

Matt Corby has remained true to his earthy tones and soulful vocal style to produce a mesmerising few minutes of gospel-laced indie.

"Monday" is as relaxing as it is powerful. The laid back beat juxtaposed by the sheer power of his voice has resulted in one hell of a track. The subtle instability to his voice makes every word a journey, something in which you can feel every inch of emotion he’s put into writing it. It’s soothing, it’s soulful and it showcases his vocal range exquisitely.

There’s not a great deal of rise and fall to "Monday" - it’s a steady and slow moving piece but it works. Its gospel feel and almost eerie male backing vocals give Matt Corby an edge that we haven’t seen before. It’s an interesting track to say the least but ticks all of the boxes in true Matt Corby style.
