One of the things I love most about summer is the time spent around the campfire & under the starry sky. Probably the best soundtrack for such an occasion is acoustic indie folk - with its impeccable warmth & sweet melancholy.

Meet Marti West from the UK, my latest find in this wonderful genre, and his "Tides". The nostalgic tune, appropriately titled for this seaside season, is about "recognising and accepting your own flaws, whilst remembering to be patient and kind with yourself."

You can hear the honesty in his lyrics, the cosiness in his vocals, and the subtle grief in the guitars, all intertwining beautifully to tell a story that's neither sad nor hopeful - but rather somewhere in between.
