It's peak summer season (at least for the northern hemisphere folks) and it's Friday, so I've brought you something that will send you straight out dancing.
Dutch producer Marra has got us covered with the freshest tune, together with LA singer Dana Williams (whom you've heard in collabs with Fabich & Jafunk). "A Little More" (out via our friends at multicolor records) is their 3rd joint release, including the super bright & upbeat "Rollercoaster", and yet another proof Marra & Dana are a dream team when it comes to sunny electronic music. The warm vocals, the driving beatwork, the deepfunky basslines & the subtle guitar grooves make us want a lot more of "A Little More".
Dana Williams is the daughter of legendary guitarist David Williams (heard on Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" & Madonna's "Like A Prayer"). You've stumbled across her soulful vocals in songs of Rejjie Snow, Kaytranada, Freddie Gibbs, Young Franco & many more.
Marra started off as a hip-hop producer but after a transformative trip to Spain, he decided to shift his style to house-influenced tracks, marked by future beats, r&b elements, iconic bouncy basslines, electronic soul, and timeless sounds. Regrettably, Marra experienced a brain hemorrhage in 2021, which then posed a significant obstacle to resuming his path as a producer/artist. But as of 2023, he's back on track to deliver feel-good, dance-all-night-long tunes - and I'm sure you'll play "A Little More" on repeat until the end of summer.
