Listen to the hook of this song and you'll understand why I've become a huge fan. That's pretty much all I have (and all I really need) to say about this.
In all seriousness though, Marie Dahlstrom's new single "Wandering" is an instant hit with me. The song is quite a deceptive one, as it opens up as what seems to be laid-back soulful song, but around thirty-seconds-in, that killer hook with the contrast of rhythm in the vocal pattern comes in, and... well I've already said all I need to say about that.
Musically, "Wandering" achieves that perfect balance of being both a soulful R&B jam as well as a killer indie-pop hit. All of which is tied together with subtle yet beautifully clean-sounding guitar licks (and that little solo for the bridge is tasteful and not in your face).
All in all "Wandering" is a bop and deserves to be in your ears this summer.
