I my first ever post on Stereofox, I shared with you a track from the highly talented Lupa J from Australia. She is a young and bright star from the vibrant electronic scene there and I was happy to find out that she has released her first song for 2016.
"Numb" is the leading single from her forthcoming EP, My Right Name, and it is one of the first songs she ever wrote, when at the age of 15! The track uses an uptempo beat, over which Lupa layers her vocals, clearly inspired from her expertise with the violin, expressing a battle with herself over insecurity. The last third of the track is especially strong to me - the layering of melodies and use of reverb feel like a continuous blast of music that softly goes through you and leaves you breathless!
She really is a special talent, and I will surely follow up to see how the new EP turns out - by her own words, it will represent her first complete body of work with a clear structure and connection.
