I have a confession to make... I've purposefully dismissed the music of Loyle Carner and haven't given him a chance. But the first listen of "Hate" I've been converted into a fan.
He diverts from his cool calm and collected vocal delivery into something that's more commanding and forthcoming for his new single and I LOVE IT. It's not only his delivery that's in your face but the lyricism too. Throughout the track he opens his heart about what he loves and hate, and in the video we see how he is personally affected by these subject matters thanks to his high emotive performance.
One of the few songs made from a hateful place. I was angry at the world, frightened and overwhelmed. It’s unfiltered.
