Compassion and empathy aren’t simply emotions, but ways of life. The track "Angel", performed and produced by Loyle Carner and Tom Mish, suggests that these are the ways of lives which the two London based artists attempt to pursue.
The simplicity of the chorus through the repetition of the word angel, sung by Tom Misch, is universally relatable. Everyone possesses a metaphorical angel within their life. In his verse, Loyle Carner extends the expression of compassion through romance, and even showing compassion towards one’s haters.
The music video shows Misch and Carner biking, drinking at a bar and generally having a good time together. This ultimately emphasises the wholesome theme of the track, and the collaborative friendship between the two talented artists.
