After seeing London Grammar at Glastonbury Festival this past weekend, I can confirm that they are one of the most mesmerising bands in the world right now. If their sublime afternoon festival set wasn't enough to convince me, their latest single 'Strong' (debuted as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in the World last night) affirms that their humbling, down-beat electronic music is destined to prove a huge success, not just in the UK, but around the world over the upcoming months and years.
The first single to be released from their forthcoming album (expected September some point) 'Strong' is a spine-tinglingly soft ballad that's powerful, defiant vocals and hauntingly minimalist accompaniment prove to be a sublime partnership once again. The songs crushingly mellow beat is complimented perfectly by the serene piano and guitar lines that twinkle gracefully below Hannah Reid's exquisite vocals. This is incredibly special.
