Back in 2015/16 I used to be a huge fan of Lil SIlva and I remember that Anna and I zealously followed everything he released. Not sure what happened, but I lost track of the works of the UK artist, so it makes me genuinely happy to re-kindle this relationship because to this day I still think he's one of the most talented producers in the leftfield electronica.
Through the years he released both club-driven and more intimate music. Today, his scope widens even further with a brand new track, "Backwards" featuring regular collaborator and era-defining producer and vocalist Sampha.
On the track, Lil Silva and Sampha share, "Backwards’ is the feeling of alienation and constantly venting in a matrix you find yourself inside, whatever that may be… Restricted and feeling guilty to move forward, constantly going backwards mentally… I guess the song is about being in a never ending cycle and the heaviness that can bring on you…It’s a metaphor for that."
