This remix deserves to be seen as a completely separate track, not compared to the original. The two are just so different that it simply makes no sense.
Shlohmo has turned the original ballad of the rising soul diva Lianne La Havas into something much darker, experimental, and 8-bit-ish. I always knew that Shlohmo was a genius, but now I am completely reassured. Even though the sound is completely different, the vibe remains the same, and I’m amazed he managed to preserve it.
If you are interested in folk/soul music, Lianne La Havas is an interesting artist to check out. She toured with Bon Iver last year, released two albums, and is certainly going places.
