We've been following the rise of UK artist Laura Misch for a while now, and recently, we had the opportunity to catch up with her for an in-depth interview. During our conversation, she candidly discusses the release of her much-anticipated debut album Sample the Sky which dropped today.
The first few teasers we received from the project displayed Laura's eclectic palette as she ventured down an experimental sound heavily influenced by electronica. On the latest single, "Light Years", however, her comforting vocals are found over an instrumental that feels like a twisted fusion between jazz and soul. And that's what I love about Laura's album - she's instinctively delivered the kind of experience that refuses to be pigeonholed, and "Light Years" serves as a marvelous example.
"Light Years the album’s focus track heading into release this Friday, is moody & memorable, with finger snap beats highlighting the smoky production & saxophone, capped off with Laura’s distinct vocals & insights."
