Whether you're enjoyed "Chengdu" or not, the one thing that's bound to stand out about this release is the fact that it's quite an interesting and otherworldly listening experience.
The flutes form a major part of "Chengdu" as their forthcoming cries run throughout the track whilst accompanied by a plucky bass. This bass, along with the wide array of left-field percussion and raw textures bring the rhythm section to life and facilitate quite a groovy bounce.
The track is reminiscent of the underground UKG scene with its swung beats and a withdrawn, reverb-soaked vocal sample drawing parallels with Burial’s earlier work.
