Kicking off my week with something from my psychedelic collection - music I rarely share on Stereofox, but the kind of sound that reaches for the inner corners of your soul to create unmatched mind-altering experiences.

Today we explore the art of Bijan Cheminari (percussion), Redi Hasa (cello, worked with Ludovico Einaudi and Robert Plant), and Rami Khalife (piano) - artists who have proven their genius before coming together to form L'Antidote. With roots in Albania, Lebanon, and Iran, the trio is creating a unique and deeply evocative sound that can heal any distressed soul out there.

The sound of L'Antidote also draws inspiration from Middle Eastern, Balkan, and Mediterranean folklore, something you'll quickly pick up while spacing out to "Pomegranate" - the first single of their highly anticipated upcoming debut album scheduled for release later this year. This song defies the usual psychedelic formula of sprawling 8-10+ minute journeys, instead delivering a masterfully crafted experience in under five minutes. It seamlessly unfolds with an intricate tapestry of mesmerizing melodies and hypnotic rhythms, proving that brevity can be just as immersive.

Rami shares, “It’s always very pleasurable and exciting to meet people who, in some way, resemble you - who share the same vision, the same freedom in their expression, boundless limits to our creativity.

This is what it’s all about: it’s about energy, it’s about the moment, and, if I may say, it’s about breaking the limits. This approach allows us to really start from improvisation, then it becomes a sort of a common language, despite the fact that we come from different backgrounds and we speak different languages.

Being able to travel through such a variety of emotions and musical adventures, is really what I look for. Playing in this trio is really a great source of inspiration, and I hope we can carry this dream to the audience in the near future.
