2 long years have passed since Kyson dropped his gorgeous sophomore album The Book of Flying. Jian is hands down one of my favourite all-time discoveries on the website. His enigmatic sound, a blend of indie, acoustic and electronic music is really unique in a world where... we're constantly overwhelmed with the amount of new music. His sound, however, makes you stop and forget about everything else. At least for a few beautiful minutes.
Seeing he's back made me smile. Kyson's new track "Every High" sounds like a lonesome journey in a land where seemingly different genres collide into perfection. Everything, from the production beat work to the soothing vocals is... enchanting. Speaking about the track, he shares...
"I wanted to write a song about overcoming the feeling or need we have as individuals to modify ourselves and our personalities to please others in our daily lives… about how honesty and trust can help overcome this pressure of pleasing, and the journey of finding the way towards both of these emotions."
Not sure what's ahead, but I hope we get to see a new Kyson record this year.
