Adding some fuel to our Essential Electronica playlist selection thanks to this awesome Kollektiv Turmstrasse re-do crafted by London-based producer TSHA. While this is the first time we feature Kollektiv Turmstraße, I've been listening to the duo ever since I moved to Berlin. I absolutely love how soulful and harmonious Nico and Christian's sound is and the energy of their live performance. Also, Turmstraße (Tower street) is one of the main streets in Moabit where a friend of mine lives, so always a positive association.
Named as "ones to watch" by a number of prominent electronic publications like DJ Mag and Mixmag, TSHA is also someone that has been on my radar for the past few months, so I'm stoked to share this remix with you. Besides her solo work, she's actually remixed some seriously dope artists like Foal, Lianne La Havas, and Qrion.
The remix came out in December last year and it's part of Kollektiv Turmstrasse's Rebellion der Träumer X - The 10th Anniversary Remixes series (out via Connaisseur Recordings). TSHA takes the dubby essence of the original "Heimat" and transforms into a powerful and dance-able, but dark progressive house electronica. It makes me want to run along the edge of a cliff on a cloudy day until my body collapses. That, or a morning rave.
