Do you remember Kenzie's "Prove" from last year?
Well, the US singer decided to spice up her mellow soul/jazz tune with a rap verse, thanks to Colombian/Cuban, California-based rapper Sikán.
"Prove" explores "the pain of being tested—and ultimately rejected—by someone you love." The honey vocals, hazy trumpets & slow drum groove of the original are elevated by Sikán's verse - "reflecting on the struggle of supporting an incarcerated loved one, who you are trying to help but can't really save."
We often hear hip-hop, jazz & soul blend but rarely in such a touching way.
