While I don't necessarily feature this kind of music as often as I would like to, I think IDM has slowly become one of my favourite genres over the years. I think today is the first time I actually use the name IDM. I've always had problems with what it means - Intelligent Dance Music. It sounds a bit pretentious, but to be honest it is a damn good way to describe the sound...
I am excited to share with you Kendl's "Manyara" - a blend of UK garage, minimal, downtempo and ambient electronica. As I write those lines I feel that goosebumps feeling crawling through my body. Those are the moments I am truly thankful for. I wish I could share with you what my eyes see right now, because it is the perfect addition to this music. I'm writing this post from a house located on a cliff above the Mediterranean sea and everything feels beautiful, slow and so unreal.
This is my first interaction with the music of the Australia-based producer and I am already in love. It reminds me of some of Bonobo's work, also edapollo, Tycho and Jon Hopkins. That nature-driven electronic sound is such a good reason to love music and life every single day.
Named after a region in Tanzania, "Manyara" is comes along with another release by Kendl. You can stream "Ella" below.
