Kelly Lee Owens' new album Dreamstate perfectly encapsulates the experience we’re welcomed to on this project with its luminous soundscapes and consistently airy textures.
One of the most captivating figures in electronic music right now is the UK-based Kelly Lee Owens, and proves this in such a compelling manner with this release. Her vocals take center stage throughout Dreamstate, but what sets "Sunshine" apart is how the production leads the way, with her voice complementing it from the passenger seat. The arps transform into incredibly bright leads while the drums are minimal throughout the progression. Repetition and long-winded passages offer a hypnotic experience that fluctuates between euphoric and introspective, and it's this feature that makes "Sunshine" one of my favorites in the project.
