Stumbling across "Whisked Away Again" by the Portland based producer, Kalaido was a much needed happening this week. It feels as though it's been ages since I've been captivated by a track like I was (and am!) with "Whisked Away Again."
It only took a few seconds for my ears to notice that there was something very refreshing and original about this production. Maybe it was the gorgeous vocal samples that open the track or perhaps it's the upbeat, almost lo-fi house like percussion that gives a very unique rhythm and feel to the song. The accompanying piano and guitar melodies are the perfect addition to this track - reminds me of a carefree summer day where time passes slowly and everything is beyond relaxing.
Since discovering, "Whisked Away Again" I've sent several messages to friends urging them to give a moment to this track and each comes back with a nostalgic feeling and a huge appreciation of what Kalaido has accomplished with this lovely tune.
