I've been in love with the intersection between r&b/soul & house/future beats ever since Kaytranada pretty much introduced it to the world.

Today, we're delighted to welcome back Kaiya, who brings the groovy "Phase" - a surprising follow-up single after the ballad "Blue Moon". A fun fact is that we've actually first featured her with the upbeat "This Time", so for her long-time fans, this just follows Kaiya's natural swaying between all kinds of smooth r&b, be they funky or slow-burners.

Getting back to "Phase", it's a song about the process of falling in love, with all the butterflies in the stomach but also the lingering insecurity and skepticism. She elaborates, "Phase" isn’t just about the excitement and caution of new romance; it’s also about self-awareness. It involves managing self-sabotage and avoiding projecting past heartbreak onto the person in front of you. It’s about seeing them for who they truly are, separate from your past experiences. Whether this leads to lasting love or turns out to be just a phase, I’m determined to enjoy the ride while staying true to myself.”

The honest storytelling is juxtaposed with captivating vocal hooks, rich drum section & pulsating synths, set to captivate you regardless if you're a fan of r&b or summery/groovy house music.
