Got a special one for anyone who loves the vibe of The Internet. Today we celebrate Australian singer/songwriter and producer JVLY, who is a frequent guest on the feed.
A few days ago Kayle announced the release of his upcoming EP SUNDER and shared the first single titled "SOUTH". The track opens with a soft, inviting brass melody that feels like a warm embrace, enveloping you in the serene soundtrack of gliding through the clearest, most pristine waters on earth. I was in love way before his soul-touching vocals even kick in.
JVLY shares, "SOUTH" is the first song I completed for SUNDER, offering the initial glimpse into the world I'm creating with this project. SUNDER is a concept EP with a continuous narrative that ties everything together. It’s also visually inspired by films like Enter the Void and Requiem for a Dream."
What I loved the most about the track was the 80s vibe oozing from every note. It carries this feeling of beautiful timelessness and it just makes me feel so relaxed.
He further elaborates, "SOUTH began with an idea my friend Cal (from daste.) sent me some time ago. He co-produced the track with me. It explores the inevitable cycles we often find ourselves in, even when we know better—when reason is clear, but we choose to look the other way. The wonky keys and steady groove give it a driving energy, which I find ironic, and I like that contrast."
