It has been a while since I've written about music in the evenings. Having a day job and pushing Stereofox means waking up at around 6 AM and doing my writing first thing in the morning. By the time it's night time I'm destroyed and creativity is way off, so I mostly do my comms and some marketing/product work. Today, however, is an exception. There's something about Friday nights that has always made me super productive and while I spent most of the evening tweaking with some future ideas for the project, it felt right to share a track I fell in love with today.
I've been listening to the new Just Big Hills release Distance for a few hours and got into a state of utter inner peace. The guitar chords of the track are the perfect showcase for his indie roots. The guitar player slash producer is going to take you on a lonesome but laid back chillhop / downtempo journey. Paired with the chopped vocals, these chords create what feels like the safest space possible right now. As I said - inner peace.
The 6 track EP is released via our friends at College Music, so make sure you check that out.
