Time is a constant in everyone's life, an entity which we are seemingly always chasing. We are surrounded by watches, digital clocks and mobile phones which are always eager to remind us what time it is.
Time stops for no one, however enigmatic producer j^p^n magically manages to alter time with his track appropriately named "Timepiece". The track begins with the ticking of a clock, which smoothly transforms into hi-hats, supported by a haunting nostalgic melody. His manipulation of the ticking clock almost gives the impression of time being malleable.
Perhaps j^p^n is insinuating that time is what we make of it, and we shouldn’t let it completely dictate our lives. In its full realisation, "Timepiece" can be experienced as a zen-like suspension of time, a moment of eternal reflection and beauty.
