"Send My Love" is the second taster of Jordan Rakei's upcoming album What We Call Life (out September 17th via Ninja Tune, save the date) and I can definitely feel the change in his sound and slightly more experimentation with the sound.
The track is airy and easy flowing and I really appreciate the blend of different electronic and ambient elements in it. Not to say that I don't love his older stuff, quite the opposite, but the new record seems like it will be way more mature and more textured in sound. I'm used to thinking of Jordan Rakei as neo-soul/R'n'B/hip-hop artist (thinking of his work with Loyle Carner specifically here), but definitely excited to see what kind of sound he has developed.
Keep them coming, Jordan, keep them coming.
