It doesn't seem that long ago that we were bestowing heaps of praise on Jordan Rakei's debut album.
But the grind doesn't stop for the New Zealand born, London-based multi-instrumentalist, and he's just announced his second album Wallflower, which is due for release next month via Ninja Tune.
As always, Rakei's vocals are on point and the groovy r&b/pop vibe pushes the song along towards the mainstream. Add to this the warm organ and the understated guitar licks of The Invisible's Dave Okumu and you've got yourself a sure fire winner!
“The song is about the concept of loving yourself wholly and truly before you offset that love onto others,” explains Rakei. On the evidence of Nerve and previous single "Sorceress," it sounds like we're in for another amazing project.
We've run out of superlative's to describe his talents, so we're not going to say anymore, just simply have a listen for yourself.
