Today we celebrate a track from Joe Nora's latest beat tape, Parasol, as well as the entire release.

The talented beatmaker teams up with another instrumental legend, Harris Cole, to create a whimsical, experimental beat titled "Too Forces." What I love most about the track is the lightness of the seemingly hard-hitting boom-bap drums. The two producers blend elements of jazz and neo-soul with experimental sounds that bring to mind early Shlohmo and Flying Lotus—a beautiful fusion.

Make sure to check out Parasol. This 10-track tape features artists like Sara Kawai and Tida and offers a rich, soulful experience. The project marks Joe’s return to his instrumental roots after a series of vocal-centered albums. I love it when producers experiment with their sound and process, as it often positively influences their style when they return to instrumental music.

In Joe's case, that certainly holds true.
