IYAMAH (eye-yam-ah) is one of those artists whose music is charged to . Ever since we discovered her back in 2023, we've kept close tabs on the Brighton-born artist, and "Luxury" would mark her 6th feature on Stereofox in just a year.

Driven by her love of artists like Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill, and growing with African drumming and reggae, the multi-dimensional artist is a breath of fresh air.

"Luxury" is taken from her debut LP which dropped today In Two Worlds and on it she asks how such a dreamer could ever get so lost in the in-between of two worlds between hopeful fantasy and manifested reality.

In the journey that In Two Worlds represents, IYAMAH delves into her connection with her past and her inner child, exploring how these factors have influenced her relationships with nature, success, finances, religion, childhood, education, mental well-being, and spirituality. I had the pleasure of listening to most of it this morning and it left me wanting more. Certainly, a record that needs a number of listeners and time before feeling familiar.

“It all started with a Tarot reading. All the songs are reflections of the cards I pulled that day. The first card had a picture is of a woman blindfolded, tied up in ropes and chains, and in front of her are 8 swords but there is a gap between two of them, and a castle in the distance.” IYAMAH explains, referring to the inspiration for the opening track titled "8 Of Swords". By exploring the essence of dreaming, hoping, and desiring, she discerns the distinction between those who keep their dreams as mere fantasies and those who actualize them into reality.
