There has been a decent amount of love for the talented guys off ISLAND here on Stereofox. The time has come for me to join the rest of the writers and add one of their awesome tracks to our player.
"Horizon" is a track taken from their upcoming debut album Feels Like Air (out April 6 via Frenchkiss) and also a sound which managed to make my eyes teary this morning. There's something incredibly emotional about both the music and Rollo Doherty's captivating vocals. The whole thing creates a feeling of beautiful hopelessness. A true masterpiece, which makes the wait for Feels Like Air worth. Influenced by the sounds of Fleetwood Mac, Kings of Leon, War On Drugs and Grizzly Bear that's gonna be one of the indie records of 2018 to be excited about.
The track comes with a video (directed by Claes Nordwall) which you can watch below. According to the band, the video...
"...captures a key theme of the album as a whole - the idea of a passenger drifting through different dreams on a journey. We wanted the video to reflect the open soundscape we feel the song creates, so we jumped at the chance to shoot in the vast Swedish countryside. Claes took us back to his snowy hometown for the video, which had an amazing dreamlike feel that really suited the ideas we wanted to convey."
