After their recent singles "Window Thoughts" and "Will They Try", East London rapper Isatta Sheriff and Italian beatmaker Koralle are dropping their highly-anticipated EP Eat The Kiwi Skin. Offering a bunch of groovy tunes, the soulful hiphop release stands out not only with slick production and captivating delivery but also with lyrical depth.
Isatta states: “I paint a picture of my journey so far as a Black female rapper, and the racial politics and experiences surrounding that. It follows Laid Back’s relaxed approach to the stage where I am at making music on my own terms and speaking freely.”
"For Those Who Love...", the lead single from the project, highlights the producer-rapper duo's love of nineties nostalgia and the legacy the hip-hop scene left, referencing the likes of Mary J Blige, Aaliyah and Lisa Left Eye Lopez as well as other throwbacks including The Fresh Prince. Besides Mercy's Cartel's wonderful contribution to this single in the chorus, the EP sees appearances from Lex Amor, Shumba Youth and Awate.
