il:lo's latest EP the fair highlights their sonic evolution, delivering a polished, forward-thinking sound while retaining the signature elements we’ve come to love from the duo.
Since 2018, French electronic duo il:lo has been a regular feature on the Stereofox website. The track "autopista" is not only one of the brightest gems on the fair, but it's also one of my favorite releases from them. We can hear the influence of UK garage seeping into the rhythm section while the overall progression is led by glossy leads and piano embellishments. Even though the track is upbeat, melodically the track nudges listeners down a path of introspection thanks to their moody soundscapes we're welcome to.
