Swiss singer/producer Hugo is about to make quite a name for himself. His breakout EP I Am Not Hugo dropped a few days ago, and although it only consists of 4 songs, each stands impressively on its own while still flowing effortlessly from start to finish.
Listening to this EP, all I kept thinking to myself was "Woodkid," which is a huge compliment to the unknown artist. There are abundant similarities between the two - expansive, cinematic production, heavy vocals, and an electronic, acoustic, folk genre blend. However, I don’t think Hugo has even begun to tap into his full potential and if that isn’t an exciting thought, I don’t know what is! Hugo is definitely one to keep on your “artists to watch” list. We can expect BIG things from him.
