If you’ve not caught wind of London quartet, Hugh, then it’s time to get acquainted, because this new song is their best yet. The band consisting of Joshua Idehen, Izzy Brooks, Andy Highmore, and Tino Kolarides has returned with latest single “Look Back In Laughter,” which follows “Direction”.
Like their previous track, this one comes complete with a similar set of inspiring lyrics, “Look Back In Laughter” is a soothing reminder not to dwell on the negatives of life.
Speaking on the track, Joshua said
"I'd been working as a barman for a while when Hugh started out," Josh said. "Long night shifts that often had more than a few bad moments in them and would leave me exhausted at the end. What usually got me through was the knowledge that at the end of our shift we'd all sit down, ching tips, retell our fave horror stories and laugh. It was rarely funny when it was happening, only in the past. "No long face, you'll laugh about it later" was what we're told each other. When Andy and I made the first topline, I remembered that phrase and the rest followed."
Whether it’s Idehen's infectious baritone spoken word contrasting with Brooks' sweet vocals that drift above the electronic instrumentation and ephemeral guitar or the catchy chorus this track is pretty much perfect pop.
In support of the single, the band will be performing a one off show at Electrowerkz, London on October 12th.
