Bluestaeb is definitely no stranger to our feed. The producer, who is part of the Jakarta Records family, has been crafting dope beats for some time now, so seeing him name on a track meant good times.
The French-born, Berlin-based producer is teaming up with Nottingham native Harleighblu - a r&b/soul singer who has been absolutely killing it lately. "Cake" is the first track from their new album due for release autumn 2019, so it's actually the first bite of what's ahead of us and... well, it's delicious!
Speaking about the single, Harleighblu reflects....
"Cake" is the first track Blue and I ever made together. It’s about going for what you want in life… Having your cake and eating it. The lyrics “Don’t wanna, don’t wanna go elsewhere” highlight the fact that you are living your best life now - Right now. Not tomorrow!
London has always been a very special city to me, musically and in my personal life. Whenever I go to London, I feel inspired and I’ve met some of the most creative people in my life in that city.
The duo seem like the perfect fit to utilize the currently booming contemporary r&b sound with instrumental hip hop and jazz-inspired beats.
Speaking about the collaboration Bluestaeb shares...
When I got the demo recording from Harleighblu I was blown away. I’ve worked with multiple singers before, but this time I felt that somebody finally really knew how to handle my beats properly and turn it into a song
The beat depth of the track and its perfect fit with Harleighblu unconventional vocals are just impeccable. Supers stoked for that release!
