With some artists I get automatically excited if I see their name, like I know it's going to be good stuff. This is definitely the case with S.Carey. Those folky Bon Iver-ish vocals = everything (he was actually a backing vocalist of Bon Iver, so it all kind of makes sense).
"Wavepool" brought me back to life: the track is a beautiful long distance baby of Hailaker and S. Carey. Even though Hailaker is a completely new name on my radar, they are there to stay. At first the production of the track seems a little bit all over the place, but it really grows on you and starts making so much sense once the vocals kick in. This is your Friday pick me up.
