So what do we have here? Today on the menu is blustep - a blend of genres, which I wasn't particularly familiar with a while ago. I realize that to some it may sound a bit strange, but if you are a bit open minded towards such musical experiments, it is highly probably you enjoy the track as much as I did.
Not sure who firstly decided to merge two complete opposite genres into one seamless sound, but I the artist who opened my eyes was Gramatik - young Slovenian producer with strong hip-hop/funk backgrounds. Based on a few interviews I read with him, he sounds like a solid dude, trying to break away of the typical "I am dubstep / drum and bass / chillout" type of guy. His vision is to create good music, regardless of what's in the mix and I do agree - at the end of the day does it really matter what genres are intermingling in a track as long as you like it?
