The first time I heard Gordon Griffey's "Counting Stars", my brain instantly traveled back to 2013 when I discovered Shigeto's early lofi / instrumental work. Been craving some classic boom-bap music, so this new gem featuring Huckspin came on my radar at the right time.
The track is taken from Gordon's debut album Odes To The Offseason released last friday (free download on bandcamp included).
Featuring masterful cuts by DJ Huckspin and velvety Fender Rhodes layers, this track envelops you in a cozy warmth. Its soulful melodies and relaxed rhythms craft an enchanting soundscape. Ideal for late-night musings, midnight drives, or sparks of inspiration.
The album comes with a photo book with an unfinished series about slow travel without queues by Berlin-based photographer Christopher Ratter. A sublime experience!
