Wow! This may very well be probably the best discovery I've stumbled across all week.
"Torino" encapsulates everything I adore about Nu Jazz... The ethnic influences, the fascinating time signatures, and most importantly - the combination between elegance and sheer swagger. "Torino" takes us back to a nostalgic, soulful sound whilst simultaneously maintaining a modern touch throughout the track. Towards the midsection, these graceful strings appear in the mix almost out of nowhere for one hell of a dramatic surprise. That, along with the cries of the sax are certainly among the stand-out moments in the track.
