On November 25th producers Gas Lab and KAZUMI KANEDA dropped their gorgeous 9-track release Trans Pacific. A record every beat fan should explore.
Released via our friends at Inner Ocean (podcast below by the way), the album lives at the intersection of chillhop and contemporary jazz. Trans Pacific is a perfect showcase of how people who don't live in the same place can create something truly magical nonetheless. The record has been written and recorded across an ocean from their respective homes in Buenos Aires and Tokyo.
For today's highlight, I chose "Be Water" - one of most spacious beats I've heard in a long, long time. I find myself drifting to the thick bassline and the trippy ambiance. A 100% repeat candidate.
