When people talk about UK’s leading dance music producers this year, Fred again..'s name often comes up in the discussion.
Fred dropped his highly anticipated third LP Actual Life 3 on November 2nd and similar to the album's 2 predecessors Fred is using voice notes, phone videos, and random recordings to create a sonic scrapbook. The best example of this is "Danielle (smile on my face"), Fred's most-listened song with almost 18M streams at the time of this writing. On it, the artist is using a live recording of 070 Shake’s "Nice to Have".
Back to my pick for the day - "Eyelar (shutters)" is a powerful punchy-drums driven electronica that lives at the crosssection of Disclosure and Burial. A win in my book.
