Folding

I thought I was already a pretty big fan of Footshooter but the UK producer continues to surprise me.

After signing to Tru Thoughts at the end of 2024, Barney Whittaker is on his way to his 5th album, called The Oasis (Apr 11th). The 4th single "Folding" features the one & only Allysha Joy (the lead singer of 30/70 Collective but whose latest solo album making of silk blew us away).

"Folding", a track exploring "the shifting tides of relationships", is built on jungle/breakbeat drums, warm pulsating synths & mesmerizingly trippy vocals.

Allysha Joy elaborates, “Folding” is all about that feeling of desperate desire, overcome by just the slightest touch, a soft word spoken or a kiss. It is the pain of wanting what is just beyond your reach and the joy of connection as it comes to be, even if only for a moment.”

“Ally’s vocals are so rich and instantly recognisable that they turn everything they touch to gold,” Footshooter adds and we couldn't agree more.
