Reminiscing about his experiences in Taiwan, flamingo zamperoni created “memories.” At the heart of this track is the enchanting Chinese instrument, the pipa. While in Tainan, Taiwan, zamperoni met Li Kai-Chen who plays the pipa in “memories.” This enigmatic, fluttering sound is coupled with laid-back drums to create a warm, visceral melody.
Created as an alter ego for Bensburner, flamingo zamperoni is a project focused on low-frequency, chill-hop music that is soothing and cozy. While the genre is quite far from the ambient, psych-rock things Ben Krahl puts out under Bensburner, he manages to capture the essence of experience through sound in all of his work.
