Alex will probably hate me for stealing one of his the most anticipated tracks, but early birds eat the worms... or whatever the expression was. On the point - one of our favourite artists Christopher Mansfield (AKA Fences) is gearing up for new release called Lesser Oceans (order here) and earlier this morning he released the first official single off the record called "Arrows".
As you have already noticed, the track features the Macklemore/Ryan Lewis duo who I guess need no introduction. Putting together Fence's brilliant singer/songwriter vibe and the ambiance the stellar duo brings seems to be working perfectly fine. The track definitely made my morning better!
A few words about the collaboration, which Macklemore recently shared in an interview:
"Fences is a good friend. He’s fu—d up in the same that I’m f—-d up. Because of that, our lives relate beyond the music. I’ve always admired his talent for illustrating with words and evoking imagery. We’ve made a bunch of stuff together over the years and ["Arrows"] is my favorite [song] we’ve done"
