Ezra Feinberg is a US-based composer, guitarist, and psychoanalyst who released his highly acclaimed third album Soft Power earlier this year. One of the masterpieces on the album, "Pose Beams", gets a complete re-do through the prism of one of my favourite electronic producers - Gold Panda.
I can recognize a touch of Gold Panda's sonic design even when it's blended with hundreds of other tracks, so falling for his new rework of Ezra Feinberg's "Pose Beams" was a no-brainer. Derwin took Ezra's beautiful sound design and added a splash of euphoric energy mixed with powerful kicks, and piano patterns that remind me of the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly. All that is beautifully wrapped in a layer of experimental glitches and tiny details that will make you re-listen to the track again and again.
