Probably one of my favorite post-rock songs. Explosions in the sky have done a lot for the genre, I think they popularized this type of music quite a lot. Not sure what's the reason for that. One's for sure – they are extremely talented and they are just out there doing hell of a job. Their music is emotional, mature, epic, expressive, full of life. A lot of build-ups and crescendos, typical for the genre, executed in the most perfect way possible. Their music gives me hope.
Seeing them live was one of a lifetime experience. As I've said many times, one of the most charming and affecting sides of post-rock is the life performance. Only then one can truly see the beauty of the music. Well, for those of you who are new to such music – I hope you check out more of EITS's stuff!
