Generally I'm drawn by things such as sound design, drum arrangements, chord progression etc... However what really pulled my attention to "Can't Walk Backwards" was the rich emotion found within the track.
There's something about the keys that feel like a compelling story is gradually unfolding with each passing moment, and what tops this off is the inclusion of "I don't wanna lose ya" - the pitched-down vocals that chime in every now and then. I can't neglect to mention the glittery arps as they compliment the upbeat nature of the rhythm.
"Can't Walk Backwards" is a song born from nights in the studio with close friends. It a more relaxed Emu Creek, the way it was always meant to be.
