For those of you who want something fresh and different, here's a track that will certainly do.
Part of Emma Ladji's debut EP Seed, this delicate indietronica piece combines minimalistic sound design with gentle, velvety vocals. "Apple" will make you feel like walking in a huge garden or forest where all kinds of beautiful flowers bloom next to sweet fruit trees.
Emma, just like a fairy, sprinkles some magic in our ears today and I'm quite happy to premiere this interesting experimental project. Here's what the artist shares on her first EP and "Apple":
This track is a fantastical hymn from the perspective of a fallen apple. I use science and mysticism as tools to create romantic sonic landscapes and delve into the erotics of nature. Seed is a concept EP inspired by the book The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan and the erotica novel The Story of O by Anne Desclos. This EP explores the sensuous side of science and imagines the amorous entanglements and secret longings of plants. An apple in divine awe of a tree, a tulip in an orgy of bees, a potato that likes to be dominated, and marijuana merging with soft skin.
Emma certainly has a lot to offer and I'm quite curious what else will she surprise us with this year.
